Two teenage girls were trapped in a malfunctioning elevator in a residential complex on Botaly Street in the Saryarka district of Astana.
A call was received by the emergency number 112, and rescuers from the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan arrived at the scene. Using a special elevator key, they opened the doors and safely evacuated the girls, born in 2009.
Officials stated that thanks to the rapid response, the teenagers spent only a short time inside the confined space and did not require medical assistance.
Earlier, a similar incident occurred on a pedestrian bridge along Baraev Street, where a boy born in 2011 became trapped in a stalled passenger elevator. A passerby heard him and called 112. Emergency responders unlocked the elevator and safely rescued him.
