Temporary traffic restrictions have been imposed in the Almaty Region and Jetisu Region as a result of adverse weather conditions.
Almaty Region
Starting from 8:30 a.m. on February 13, traffic for all types of vehicles has been suspended due to worsening weather.
Restrictions apply to the following road sections:
• Almaty – Shelek – Khorgos highway (km 25–136);
• Almaty – Taldykorgan – Ust-Kamenogorsk – Shemonaikha – Russian border highway (km 25–124).
The tentative reopening time is February 13 at around 2:00 p.m.
Jetisu Region
On February 13 at 8:30 a.m., traffic restrictions were also introduced for all vehicles due to severe weather conditions.
The closure affects the Almaty – Taldykorgan – Ust-Kamenogorsk – Shemonaikha – Russian border highway between kilometers 124 and 200.
Traffic is expected to resume on February 13 at approximately 2:00 p.m.
